Why are my photos now only showing in landscape. They are sideways now.

My photos previously always posted in portrait and now they are sideways.  Does anyone have any ideas. I have uninstall the app and then reinstalled it but it hasn't made any difference.  My phone is a Samsung 22s.

Thanks

  • Bad EXIF info handling I guess.

Most likely, some websites not support it well.

Photos can be turned by orientation tag without re-saving (usually when done by a system photos' viewer)

or by actually rotating pixels and re-saving (by images' editors).

So if someone has such problem, then you can rotate a photo and re-save it in some software.

  • Mine were going in horizontal, now they’re upside down

    • If phone camera is held in landscape mode with the top pointing to the right, the photo will end up on Garmin Connect as upside down.
    • If phone camera is held in upright portrait mode, then the photo will end up rotated 90° counterclockwise.
    • If phone camera is held in landscape mode with the top pointing to the left, the photo will end up in the correct orientation. this is the current workaround.

A case was opened with Garmin Support on February 28th.

  • any update on the case?

  • Just received an email regarding this today.

  • Great, just made a test and can confirm that it is working again as it used to.
