Connect.garmin.com now bunching track workout laps into intervals

when viewing a track run activity in connect.garmin.com/modern, it will automatically group my run into intervals.   Is there a way to go back to showing every lap individually?   The grouping messes up my Stryd power meter power measurements.

Is there a way to change the default back to viewing all laps without the "smart" intervals ?  For the below, it groups the intervals right but messes up my Lap Power from the Stryd.   The Laps all show up on the mobile app but you can't edit that in excel easily.

  • Is there a way to change the default back to viewing all laps without the "smart" intervals ?

You can try changing the type of the activity in Garmin Connect from Track Run to the regular Run. If it does not help, the next time use Run instead of Track Run already when starting the activity. But of course, you'll lose the remaining track functionality.

  • Were you ever able to find a solution to your issue? I hate when it automatically groups it into some sort of interval run. Is there a setting to turn this off?

You can't turn this off unfortunately. If you press Lap after periods of varying run speed, your watch will auto-categorize them into intervals. If you look at the activity on your watch, it should show intervals instead of laps

For example, this happens to me when I do a steady state run, but I run strides at the end and press Lap before and after each stride. The entire steady state portion gets classified as a warm up, the strides are classified as run intervals, and the periods between the strides are classified as rest intervals.

There is a workaround to "fix" the activity in Connect after the fact, so that your splits CSV export is a little cleaner. You can't completely get rid of the intervals afaik, but you can make it so your entire activity is just a single Run interval which contains all your laps.

    1) Open activity in Connect

    2) Edit intervals (all your laps will all be categorized as "Run" intervals for the purpose of editing)

    3) Make a change to any lap, then change it back to "Run" (so all laps are "Run" again)

    4) Save intervals (return to main activity view)

    5) Click on intervals tab, expand the sole interval and export splits to CSV. You'll have all your laps with a single interval header at the top which can easily be deleted or ignored
