What are the number of points needed for Levels from challenges/ badges?

Please can Garmin publish a list of how many total points are  needed for each level as well as how many points to the next level.

Also I have heard that there are now 10 levels, can you confirm this?

Has anyone tried to keep track of each time they get a new level and the points to the next level? If so we can workout a few of the numbers.

  • I have been using Garmin Connect for seven years and have reached level 6.  The point system makes sense if you take the time to study it and use it. You really need to use this and other forums to understand how it works.  If you research the app and use it seriously, you can advance nicely.  Points should not expire because people have to come back from injuries without getting wiped out.  I agree that a reset is needed after inactivity.  If you fail to get any points for six months, it should reset to zero. You can get a point for just recording sleeping, so this would not be an unfair reset.  A person can miss a few months after an injury or illness for good reasons.  The system is a motivator based on game theory.  If Garmin was smart they would offer deep discounts on product upgrades after a person jumps to level 7 and again after each successive level jump.  If a person gets level 7 and above Garmin can see the device they are using and offer a trade in to a better watch with a lower cost than the normal discounts.  They still would probably sell much more product doing this kind of promotion  because it really would motivate getting more expensive and capable Garmin watches with each successful level jump up.

  • I don't think it should reset either. There are badges for doing thing consecutively, so that help at knowing if someone is still active or not. It's not just the level. I'm currently at over 900 consecutive days with an average of 10,000 daily steps. I'll be reaching 1,000 days on March 29.

Looking back, I got my first badge on April 3rd, 2018. I'm at level 7 so going at that rythme, it's going to take 8 more years to reach level 8! No way I'll be reaching level 9, not considering I'm already in my 60s. However, if you look at the start of this post, I said I wasn't going to reach level 6 and yet, I'm going towards level 8, so who knows....
