Rouvy sync to Garmin connect, ride is not count in Garmin challenges

Hi all, I am using tacx neo 2T and Rouvy app. Recently, Rouvy made ride syncing available to Garmin Connect. Everything is working fine, the only thing missing is for the ride to count towards Garmin challenges. Is this in the plan or is there some reason why it's not counting? Thank you in advance for reply.

  • Any update on this, I'm literally trailing Rouvy this week, and having done 4 days with it I'm shocked that it connected to Garmin and logs my rides, but none of the rides count towards challenges. I have Garmin HRM, Garmin Tacx, in fact Garmin everything and having done most of the Tacx rides, so nice to use another app to cycle with??

  • You need to log the ride with your Garmin device. Activities imported or synced from 3rd parties do not count. That's the rule for Challenges and Badges, and I did not hear about any plans to change that rule. The Tacx app should work for challenges/badges too, I think (though I never used it, so cannot confirm).

  • I confirm the the tacx app work for Garmin badges and challenges.

Anyway the only method to count the ROUVY activities is to double them with the Garmin device. You can start an activities of 1minutes or less, save and upload in the app and then change time and kilometers with the ROUVY activity.

It's totally stupid but it works fine.

  • This annoys me also.

Funny thing is a virtual bike ride from MyWoosh that I exported manually from my woosh and imported it via garmin connect counts. After wondering why I found out that the MyWoosh activity shows that it was recorded with a Garmin Edge 1030 Plus.

  • a little late to the conversation but i have noticed this issue as well. i see how doubling up would make things work but then you would have to go back and delete one. i also use Strava and i think I would then start getting double logs of the activity there as well. Garmin already gets all the info from Rouvy and shows the activity. How hard can it be for them to just fix such a simple problem and push this info up to challenges?

  • How hard can it be for them to just fix such a simple problem and push this info up to challenges?

It isn't hard at all. Garmin has decided that they don't count activities from 3rd party services. So, it is intentional and not a bug.

  • Good point. Just narrow minded thinking by Garmin.

  • Has anyone tried the Rouvy -> Strava -> Garmin route?

I also find it shameful and unworthy that 100 kilometers driven in a third-party app are worth nothing, but you can achieve any challenge with an edited activity.

This almost borders on distorting competition in order to support your own app (and of course the license fees).

    1.    as you can see the way Strava and Garmin connect the activity will not push up to Garmin. Only the segments and courses. Fail to see why Garmin trust some things and not others. All the details get sent to Garmin from Rouvy when it's linked but it will not count for challenges. They seem to trust Rouvy enough to allow linking the apps so why stop there?
  • This is so silly, I've literally given up with any indoor cycling badges now. Over £1k of Garmin gear that goes through the Connect app,  which they log,  but don't count! Not connected... They'll lose out eventually
