All my activity maps have disappeared

All of the Maps for my outdoor activities have disappeared on the web and on the Android Connect App.

When cycling the other day, my speed monitor did not connect to my Forerunner 935XT and despite GPS being connected, speed and distance was not being recorded.  I stopped and eventually the speed connected and I was on my way.

When I checked the activities, I could see a map but had no distance on the other activity.  I mapped it out and added the distance to the activity.

Today I looked at previous activities to try and find a particular distance to cycle, and no maps on anything, including my runs. Not on the app, not on line either.

I saw some posts about restarting the watch, checking the setting on the activity was an outdoor one and nothing.

The cycle I did today has (currently) got a map on it.

I delete the activity that I manually edited the distance, just in case that caused an issue and the maps have not come back.

Any ideas?

Thanks

  • Maybe check in a web-browser's console if there is a polyline for that activity, like here: Missing information on another activity or open network tab to see what is loading. If function for polyline returns data, then it would be just a display problem.

  • Hi BunBun!

Thanks for replying.  I've opened up the console and looked at the elements and compared between one with a map and one without.

    Without just has this:-

    <div class="activity-react-map"></div>

With a map has lots of elements between the <div>s

So it appears that no map is being sent across.  As the same thing is happening on the mobile app and on Strava I assume that Garmin is not seding the map information across.

Any ideas on where I could go from here?

  • But try to run that command to download a polyline as in linked thread, or export your activity as GPX and render it in some map program. So you would know if your path data is there.

Also you can try refreshing with CTRL + F5 or opening in private mode, to be sure it's not some cache problem, or maybe try to change map's provider (from google to osm or other way).

If a map will be still missing, then probably you should try contacting support.
