No training status

Suddenly I have no training status - despite runnngin three times a week. No status on the watch (Foreruinner 935), app nor Connect. Disappeared after a ru m three days ago and has not returned.

    3. In what country do you live?
      Hong Kong.

    4. Can you confirm the date of your missing Training Status?
      - "Training status" is missing since Dec. 2, 2021 (but I have 4-5 run data after that date)
      - "VO2 max" is missing since Dec. 5, 2021

    Having said that, if your watch shows the same VO2 Max and Training Status data that is shown in your Garmin Connect account, this tells us that nothing is wrong with Garmin Connect.  Because the VO2 Max and Training Status are generated on the watch, if after completing a few more runs to meet the criteria in the FAQs (above), you feel that this warrants further investigation, please reach out in your device forum.

    If your watch and Garmin Connect are showing different VO2 Max and/or Training Status data, please post photos and screenshots showing that.

  • Thanks for reminding the VO2 Max criteria. I was heading the close out period of a Garmin training plan, which focused on short interval training at that time. This was affecting VO2 max calculation by nature. Thanks for pointing out that.

    Following you advice, I checked for potential discrepancy between my FR945 and Garmin Connect. VO2 records seems to be weird. Result are summarized as shown below and provided as screen capture.

    (1) Training status
    - FR945 do not indicate "date" or related historical information. It just show "No status" as current status.
    - Garmin connect shows it last record on 2 Dec 2021, which is several days before the last VO2 max record.

    Question: As training status already disappeared days before the last VO2 max record, did training status affected by VO2 max only? Any other contributing factors?

    (2) VO2 max
    - FR945 shows my last VO2 max record on 11 Dec 2021.
    - Garmin connect also shows my last VO2 max record on 11 Dec 2021 at the training status page. But when I turn to the "Report" page, it changes to 5 Dec 2021 instead.

    Question: Why there are two different VO2 max reported inside Garmin connect? Which one is affecting training status?


  • because the VO2 Max and Training Status both show the same value/status on your watch and in Garmin Connect, this tells us that Garmin Connect Web is functioning correctly.  For further assistance, please reach out in a new post with a Forerunner 945 thread instead of in this Garmin Connect Web thread.
