Lost activities

Hi, out of the blue I have lost all activities ever recorded, incl. personal records. Garmin Connect looks like I started with garmin today. Some settings remained, badges also remained, lot of settings gone and needed to be set again. Is it only temporary or have I lost all activities for ever?? I have tried to uninstall app, switch off watches, nothing helped.

  • sorry to read that. My ticket is still open. will let you know about final info asap. but for the future I will also check to have data on my personal pc stored and backup'ed. I think I could reconstruct a big portion...only the tacx files after garmin took over from tacx would be lost... as I appreciated the automated upload. before that I downloaded the file from tacx and uploaded to garmin...which will now be an advantage as I didn't delete the local file after upload...

happy that the kcal's I lost don't show up the same way as the activities seem to get lost :-)))

hope you can restore a big part (or even all) of your data!!! thank's for opening the thread. It felt comforting not to be alone with this issue :-|

  • Thank you for sharing the problem. It is strange coincidence that same thing happened at the same time to both of us..I am not fool to delete my account. It may be some problem Garmin does not want to share.. I reconstructed data from Endomondo and from other app, unfortunately not pulse, steps etc. Definitely good idea to download backup file from garmin from time to time and have it as backup. Good luck.

  • Final update from my side. Data is also lost. Same explanation. It seems that I withdrew consent for upload and as a consequence all data was deleted. I’m not aware of having withdrawn any consent nor having confirmed such a withdrawal :-( unfortunately, not only activities in garmin connect are deleted, but also data under tacx - so that I cannot re-load this data.

For the future I take two learnings out of this:

    1. Make regular (frequent) exports from the data uploaded or even keep master with me and only upload copies - depending on source (device or tacx)

    2. Don’t upload via mobile over browser...this was always tricky - at least on my phone, icons and buttons didn’t work properly - and I assume the error happened there, for whatever reason.

    Happy training.
