Reports -> steps = km/year

Hallo everybody,

got a strange question, due to a Challenge with my friend, ich need to know how many KM,

I had in the last year and this year, no matter what kind of activity. (Base: steps)

Would be great if somebody could advise how to setup such kind of a report without exporting datas......

Because it is simply not available, and here on the user forum we can only offer you existing solutions. You can request it from Garmin through the form Submitting an Idea to Garmin. Do not hold your breath while waiting for Garmin to implement it, though. It may take years, if it is not a frequently requested feature, since there are countless feature requests submitted all the time.

BTW, all taken steps (and the total distance) are available on the public profile (assuming you enable it in User Settings » Public Profile), in the Life Time Totals section. But that's really the life time total (since you started using the device), not a annual total.

... otherwise you can also get the Steps report for the last 12 month:

And if you look at the background JSON data, you can hack the address, and have it showing you the data for the calendar year instead. Or for whatever else date range you want. The data is split in months, though, so you'll have to make the totals yourself (or write a simple script parsing and summig the data):
