Corrupt fil VA3+music

Hello everyone...

Last week, I had an issue with my VA3+Music. (https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/250024/corrupt-fit-file-on-my-va3-music)

Same run, same issue. Thiis time, I understood something new. Last time and today, the music stopped during my run just when the steps goal was reached (while it's disabled during activities in my settings...).

As soon as the crash occured, i stopped my activity, saved it, and started a new one.

However, once again, I cannot upload my activities on garmin connect / strava. I tried using https://www.fitfiletools.com

to merge the two files, but the file is still not uploaded on garming connect.

Does anybody know if the files tracked anything at all ?

Has anyone had the same issue ? How to stop getting Goals achievment during activities (as it's already disabled in my settings ?)

    Can you tell us something about these activities? Indoor run? Asking because when looking at 2021-01-09-14-53-33.fit, there is no GPS position data.

    Do you want these merged for some reason? The 2nd file is only 5 seconds of data.

    It was an outdoor activity :(  So now the GPS signal was not working.... I run for about 45 minutes. The second file should have been recording for about 10 minutes (~2km)

    I don't understand what is going on. the data on my watch is working but as soon as the Goal animation pops, it seems the tracking stops.

    I'm about to reset it to factory settings.  :( another lost activity I guess :( Do you know if my HRM-PRO was synced with my watch during the runs ?

    There is HR data in both files. You can upload both of these to Garmin Connect, but no map displayed.

    I don't have a vivoactive, so can't comment on the specifics. I know from having several Garmin fitness watches that when following a training workout, when the workout is completed the device automatically stops recording. This is by design, but it should not cause the activity to be corrupted. I noticed on both of your activities they ended abruptly without any summary data. The FIT file tool fixes that, but in most cases has no knowledge of what occurred after that point.

    Thanks for doing this.
    Well it's not really a training workout, but just the amount of steps reached.
    After last week issue, I made sure to disable the goal notification during an activity. But the notification popped at the exact same place on my usual route.

    I just resetted it. I'll try to see next time if the same issue occurs again. I'll make sure to take my Garmin swim as a back up device if it occurs again :(
