Steps on Garmin Connect not same as watch or daily steps

Hi

Garmin Connect application shows different values for today steps in MyDay stats and Steps details stats

I have seen several posts where others are experiencing the same issue but has anyone found a fix or solution to this? 

As the total number steps completed on the watch or on my day steps is never the number that is added to the steps details stats, sometimes this can be 1000s less than what you actually did and often will miss daily targets even though you achieved them. 

I have tried syncing several times late on the evening closing the app down and re syncing but the steps value is still a lot lower than what i achieved, then the following day the lower number of steps is added to steps details. Very annoying

    My experience shows the opposite. The Connect app on my iPhone always shows more steps than the watch for up to 20 seconds and then the watch updates. I find it interesting that the phone knows my steps, even when it sits on the counter for a couple of hours, before the watch does how far I've walked. At the end of the day the numbers match up, but it's strange how it gets there.

    Have been having the exact same problem frequently over the past couple weeks.  The Garmin connect steps never catch up with actual on the watch (always lower). If I restart (Vivoactive 3  Music) watch extra steps are lost and watch reflects the lower number when it comes back up.  Very frustrating that watch will not accurately sync at end of day. Example right now watch shows 14,113 sync show complete, but Garmin connect on android shows 13,489. Constantly lagging behind actual on watch.  Never completely catches up.  13,489 is what shows online, same as phone (always lags behind watch, never catches up).

    Since a few days I also experience that the step count on the GC mobile app (after syncing) differs from the step detail screen (700 steps difference). 245 reset doesn't help. Now I have deleted almost all fit-files on the 245, so plenty storage available now. Hopefully this helps...

    Unfortunately deleting almost all fit-fles didn't solve the problem. All other tips I have tried and did't helped :-(
