Garmin Coach Goal Pace Repeat changed

Former Member

I started a Garmin Coach Plan for 10K with a goal time of 44 minutes (4:24 min/km). Everything has been fine up until today when I did a Time Trial in Week 8 out of 17. I thought the Time Trial went well, running the mile segment in 6:28. So I expected the workouts to either maintain or increase the difficulty level.

I have a Goal Pace Repeat workout next week (week 9) Previously the Goal Pace Repeat target was set to 4:24, but now it’s 5:00. Even though the recovery time has correctly reduced, this slower target pace doesn’t feel right at all.

Anyone else experienced something similar to this?

Yes I also experienced this - did you find out any answers?

I am only a few weeks until the end of the 17 week plan with the aim of a sub50 10km race and my goal pace was 4:55-5:10 but even after a successful time trial, it’s all done down to 5:32-5:44?!??

  • So apparently this error can't be fixed. I have the exact same

  • How did you come to this conclusion? I have the same issue as the poster. Goal of 10k with 44mins target time. My tempo runs and steady runs are actually correct or at least faster pace intervals than my goal pace repeats.

  • This is what we get with "agile programming".  The developers just fling code up on the wall and what doesn't fall out becomes the product.

  • So glad I found this thread. The exact same thing has happened to me and I thought I was going nuts.

    Steady run pace: 4:56-5:14

    Goal pace repeats: 5:19-5:32 Rofl

    Very annoying

  • Still no fix and it's nearly 2023!

10k plan, 45 min target (7:14/mile race pace), yet my goal pace repeats are 8:02 - 8:22/mile

I've only just worked this out, wondered why my plan confidence is plummeting!! It obviously knows what goal pace should be, in order to drop the confidence, it's just displaying the wrong thing.

  • Same here. Since it says goal pace, I usually do them in my actual goal pace for race day and ignore the (slower) target pace displayed
