The most likely reason is that the GPS was not active because your ephemeris data file expired or is damaged. Connect the watch with USB cable to the computer, and check for updates with Garmin Express. You need doing it regularly - GPS cannot work reliably and quickly without fresh ephemeris data. The privacy setting of the activity you posted previously is still private, and hence not accessible. However, as I wrote previously, the problem is almost certainly linked to the expired ephemeris file. Update it, and try doing a new activity with it.
