Can I move waypoints on Garmin Connect?

I made a few changes to a route and I wanted to move a waypoint on Garmin Connect.  A part from deleting it and creating it again I couldn't find a way to move it.  When looking for a solution I found this question on the forum: https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/57238/moving-waypoints-to-non-roads  So apperently it has been possible to drag your waypoint.  Why is this no longer possible?  Or does anyone know the magic key-combination to make it possible?

I am not sure whether I understand you correctly. You are telling you could make changes to the route, but could not move the waypoints? How did you change the route without moving the waypoints? And when you speak about a "route", do you mean a past Activity, a Course, or another feature?

If you are speaking about a Course, then I have not experienced any problems when I tried editing one right now, though I did not attempt to save the modification (I do not need to change my course).

  • If you indeed meant editing a route of a Course, then perhaps you attempted to drag the waypoints, without entering the Edit mode. In the case you have not seen it, the Edit mode is accessible through the context menu after clicking the tripple dot symbol at the bottom of the Course window:

  • I've changed (I know where the editmode is) a course I made on the site itself (so no activity).  But I think you're mixing waypoints and coursepoints.  As far as I know coursepoints are points that make a course ad waypoints are points on the course you define yourself with a name (food, mountaintop,...)  In my case I made a waypoint every 5km and because a certain part of the course wasn't public around the 10km point I had to make some changes to my course so the 10km point was no longer on the same place.

  • But I think you're mixing waypoints and coursepoints.

Indeed. I know of no other points than coursepoints in Courses of Garmin Connect, and never saw any other type of points than that in GC. I believe, the term "waypoints" is used in Garmin Explore, but I practically never use it, so cannot advise much. Try editing your course in Garmin Explore.
