Garmin Connect app, absent routes

I have a Note 10+ paired with a Fenix 3hr, up until a couple of months ago my routes for my activities have gone away. All of the information is there but there is no maps. I can't find an answer from Garmin anywhere on the internet.

I always ensure I have the green ring symbolizing the GPS is tracking, I have disconnected and re-connect my watch and I have ensured it is updated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can you set one of your activities with this problem public and share the link here, so that we can look at it?

  • There is a similar thread, where the user got the issue resolved by restarting the watch. There are also some other tips to try. You could also try downloading the activity FIT file from the watch over the USB cable (it is in the folder //GARMIN/Activities), and checking it with FIT File Tools for errors - for example passing it through the Section Remover, without removing anything. It could reveal whether the file contains the GPS data, or whether there is another inconsistency with it. Or you can ask on the FIT Files thread for assistance with analyzing the file.

  • ... I forgot to tell that one of possible reasons why the GPS data was not recorded, could be low space on the watch - if the folder //GARMIN/Activities is overfilled with old activities, you should consider deleting files of odler activities that were already correctly transferred to Garmin Connect.

That did not solve the issue. Does Garmin ever respond to these forums addressing the issues?

No, this is a user community forum for mutual help. Up and then it happened in the past, but more and more rarely. You need to connect Garmin Support if you want to speak to them directly.

Btw, another reason for the missing GPS data could be a missing or an expired EPO file - that should be fixed automatically when you connect to the watch over the USB cable and Garmin Express and make sure the watch gets all updates. Check the folder //GARMIN/REMOTESW, there should be the file epo.bin
