Active Calories Wrong After Update to 15.0

Fenix 5 user experiencing issues with active calorie totals after updating to software version 15.0.  The active calories for my activities (running, cardio session, etc) is calculated correctly and shown accurately in the activity summary, but my overall active calories for the day aren’t including all the active calories from my activities. Anyone else experiencing this problem after the latest software update?

I have exactly the same issue with my Garmin Instinct. It is very annoying and frustrating that it gets something so basic so VERY wrong.

Are you just another user who does not read answers in a thread before posting? Did you see the framed answer earlier in this thread? Is there something you do not understand, and need a better explanation?

  • Do yourself a favour and look at the explanations, which have already been given several times in this thread.

If you don't believe those explanations, it is extremely easy to verify them yourself instead of wasting your time complaining about something which works as it is intended to by Garmin:

    1. Find the screen where your watch shows your daily count of total calories, resting calories and active calories.

    2. Write down those three numbers.

    3. Now record a training session of for example one hour.

    4. Again find the daily calories screen and write down the numbers.

    5. See how much each number has increased during the session. It could for example be:
      Resting calories: +80
      Active calories: +320
Total calories: +400 (the sum of Resting and Active)

    6. Now look at the calories recorded in your training session. What does that number say?
      It should say 400.
The problem is that you expect it to say 320, which was never Garmin's intention.
