Daily Summary - New Website

It seems that Garmin has updated the daily summary on the garmin connect website. But in my opinion not very well.

For me, this page was a quick view of important data for each day in one view. Now, i have to scroll down to get the information. Maybe garmin did not understand how a mobile website or desktop website should work. Now it seems a mobile website and looks like the Garmin App. A big advantage to other companies was this website for me. Because most of others have no website (beside Polar these days) or have a bad dashboad like Fitbit.

Yes, for most cases i can use the mobile App but for some more information or better view, i use the website daily... also because a good overall view of the last day (... which worked until yesterday).

My wish ist to get some information (Steps, Kalories, Sleep, Stress, Heart Rate etc.) in ONE View as a Desktop Website is not a mobile Website/Phone with less space. It is weired and i am not very happy (if it is a trend i also could use a Samsung or Apple Watch :( ).

much space for nothing :(

What do you think???

  • I think Garmin have messed this up. The Activities menu now basically displays the Daily Summary except it scrolls to the type of activity (e.g Steps). I preferred it when it showed Steps and Intensity side by side as round meters, now the measurements are shown by bars. There appears to be a Customise option but this doesn't work. For me the new format is unusable.

  • This is bloody awful.

    Garmin:  You used to have a Daily Summary on one page, where we could SEE all the information we needed on a single page.

    Now, you're making us go digging for the information that used to be on a single page.
    It's now SIX pages & scrolling down the entire page, where it used to be contained on a single page.

    Given it's supposed to be a summary, it's surely better on a single page where all the information is easily in sight, not scattered around making us burn time & effort trying to find where everything is in this "improvement"?

    Also a little notice that this was going to happen would have been a common courtesy, don't you think?  Customers HATE surprises, you know  (You remember "Customers", right?  We're the ones that BUY these things & keep you guys in business)  ;)

    Combined with the fact that my Fenix 3HR now fails to sync with my phone since I updated to version 5.40 yesterday, then I'm sure they'll understand why frustration is growing.

  • Isn't it possible to make your own dashboard containing exactly what you want it to contain?

    They also seem to have lost the ability to enter a note about your day.

  • you can still do it on the android app (I know - touch-screens suck)

  • In the HTML source code on the daily summary page there was a JSON summary (copy below) which was very useful for capturing all the data into excel.  They have striped this out as well.....

    <script>
                DAILY_SUMMARY = JSON.parse('{\"accessControlRule\":\"subscribers\",\"privacyProtected\":false,\"goalValue\":7000,\"source\":\"GARMIN\",\"deviceId\":39******33,\"userGoalCategory\":\"manual\",\"nextId\":\"80fa3a689c454d088e9d1cf82e\",\"endTimestampLocal\":\"2019-05-12T00:00:00.0\",\"lastSyncTimestampGMT\":null,\"id\":\"167b538f0236423bb198b7f1889\",\"minAvgHeartRate\":57,\"bmrKiloCalories\":2225,\"deviceStepsGoal\":5000,\"floorsDescendedInMeters\":122.003,\"moderateIntensityMinutes\":59,\"steps\":12968,\"activeSeconds\":9069,\"applicationInstallationPK\":null,\"intensityMinutesGoal\":150,\"restingHeartRate\":63,\"updateDate\":null,\"vigorousIntensityMinutes\":9,\"userFloorsAscendedGoal\":100,\"description\":null,\"maxAvgHeartRate\":130,\"endTimestampGMT\":\"2019-05-11T23:00:00.0\",\"sedentarySeconds\":53519,\"lastSevenDaysAvgRestingHeartRate\":57,\"ownerDisplayName\":\"hirael\",\"totalKiloCalories\":3110,\"maxHeartRate\":132,\"createDate\":null,\"elevationGoalMet\":false,\"previousId\":\"40b42e282fb54ef09e3bb054e0b874d5\",\"floorsAscended\":14.96063,\"distanceInMeters\":10471,\"highlyActiveSeconds\":112,\"startTimestampGMT\":\"2019-05-10T23:00:00.0\",\"startTimestampLocal\":\"2019-05-11T00:00:00.0\",\"sleepingSeconds\":23700,\"restingHeartRateTimestamp\":\"2019-05-11T23:00:00.0\",\"wellnessDailySummaryPk\":3879795,\"activeKiloCalories\":885,\"elevationGoalExceeded\":false,\"floorsDescended\":40.02723,\"notWornSeconds\":null,\"durationInMilliseconds\":86400000,\"minHeartRate\":57,\"userProfilePK\":****795,\"calendarDate\":\"2019-05-11\",\"floorsAscendedInMeters\":45.6}');
    </script>
  • If only it didn't cost $5000 to get access to the API we'd be able to slice and dice our own data exactly as we want to.

    Hate it!" Have to scroll up and down to find thing that where just 'there' on the old version. It was a nice concise view of the day, now it's pointless. How do we get the old one back. Garmin should put options in user account settings to choose which views they want. No just 'ditch the old one' because some developer or manager has an idea that THEY want!!! :(
