Trailblazer Badge (Create a segment)

Former Member

Checking Garmin Connect and trying to create a segment to achieve the 'Trailbazer' badge.

How do you do it ?, OR, is it now obsolete ??.

I linked my Garmin account to Strava, created one on Strava, still didn't get the badge.

Anybody have same problem or a resolution to how to get the Badge ??.
• You create the segment from a saved activity in Garmin Connect

Open one of your activities in Garmin Connect on the interweb.
Scroll to the bottom of the data and you'll see Stats, Splits, Segments, Time in Zones
Click on Segments. Then click on Create Segment.
• I went to give this a try (since I don't have the badge yet). I'm not seeing the Segments in my activities. I have States, Splits, and Time in Zones. When I do a search on the webpage, it is showing that I have "Segments" but not actually showing it, it's hidden on the page somewhere. I tried making the activity public too, in case that was a factor, but it's still not showing anything. Is there a setting I might have missed somewhere?

Thanks for the answer, I tried and this what I found.

I have an Edge Explore 1000 and used it for Cycling and Walking and it only displays Stats, Splits in Garmin Connect activity.

I also have a vivoactive 3 Music and used it for Cycling, Running and Walking and it only displays Stats, Splits, Time in Zones in Garmin Connect activity.

Am I doing something wrong OR do both devices not allow Segment Creation OR is it because I am linked to STRAVA ?.
• To be sure, you can try direct link: connect.garmin.com/modern/segment/createFromActivity/ACTIVITY-ID
Replace ACTIVITY-ID by your activity id.
• OR is it because I am linked to STRAVA ?.

That's not the problem as my account is linked to Strava. Maybe it's the device that does not have the ability to see segments? I'm using a 935 and 5+ for this.

Thanks for the information, you could be correct. Pretty poor of Garmin considering the Edge Explore 1000 is one of the expensive GPS units for cycling.

Again, Thanks for looking into my problem.

Thanks, this worked for me too. Got a nice shiny new Trailblazer badge, and plan on laying down some other segments as well.
• Connect mobile -> segments -> Ξ -> Use Garmin segments. That's it. No need to disconect Strava.

Or Web Connect:

• Log on to Garmin Connect Web
• Add the Segment widget to the dashboard ("+" > Segments)
• If there's a Strava logo on the widget, then your segment type is Strava and you need to change it to Garmin.
Click Gear Icon > Use Garmin Segments
• Connect mobile -> segments -> Ξ -> Use Garmin segments. That's it. No need to disconect Strava.
