Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Former Member
Former Member

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Hi Former Member.

I have another corrupt file. Ran it through the section remover, and removed the two sections where its faulty (seems to have not autopaused, but also partially autopaused) at the 33 minute and approximately 58 minute mark. Redownloaded the file and uploaded it to garmin, however in the charts of speed, power, HR etc, the sections I'd removed still seem to show. On Strava, the file appears to show perfectly.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Hello,

unfortunately I am also making my first experience with a corrupt file. As I am using a Mac, the Fit File Repair Tool is no option and the browser applications did not help me. Can someone with the Fit File Repair Tool please check my file and repair it if possible. It was my first long day in the saddle of my road bike and I would love to have the record.

hi, sorry to hear about your mishap

    let us start with this

    • "One of your files was not accepted by the system. Please contact Support for assistance."
    • you should do this next week to make a bigger case for the multiple mishaps
    • contact Garmin Support by phone

    and continue with this

while waiting for the repair report back here : long list

    • the amount of FIT files in the ACTIVITY folder on your watch
      • (when folder contains many fit files time for a backup/clean operation)
    • the amount of FREE memory on your watch
      • (when low FREE memory, check above and below answer)
    • are you a MAC user
      • (empty BIN on device while connected)
    • was this activity with a long duration or distance compared to previous activities
      • ( long ones use more memory )
    • was this activty with a pause somewhere during the activity
    • was your watch on auto pause
    • was the watch connected to a phone during the activity
    • what was your procedure stopping the activity
      • did you stop and immediately pressed save
      • or did you stop, paused and then pressed save

    happy & safe sporting

hi, thank you for the quick response. I already got in touch with the Garmin support, but there was no support on my problem, just a recommendation to use a 3rd party repair software.

I already cleaned the activity folder of the watch to prevent similar mistakes in the future. It is right that this activity was about the double time of my usual activities. The activity has been paused several times, but without using the auto function. The watch has been connected to my phone all the time of the activity. When I stopped the activity, I did not directly save it, this happened about 2 min later.

    Hi,

Is there anyone who could help me?

The file of my ride yesterday is corrupted. Right after saving my activity I crashed and luckily I can access my watch connected to the laptop.

The kleisewetter website didn't work, stating the file was in use. Connect said it was corrupted and the fit file repair  tool will not work on my computer.
