How to get rid of badges

Is there any way to get rid of these annoying badges? They might be fine to try to get little kids interested, but they are an annoyance for adults.

  • I am referring to the "pane" that you referred to when you said:

"You can do it too, but I guess it will be also too lengthy and difficult for you:

Click the cogwheel symbol on the pane with the badges, and select Remove. You won't see the offenders anymore, and you will hopefully finally start enjoying the life without any harrasing (sic) badges."

Sorry to have belittled the badges when they are obviously so important to you.

As long as unchecking the badges checkbox on the profile page gets rid of future badges all is well.

  • I am referring to the "pane" that you referred to when you said:

It was the pane on the Dashboard. That is, to my best knowledge, the only place where you can get annoyed by the badges,  unprovoked. As I wrote, you can remove the Badges pane from the Dashboard quickly in the way described previously.

However, you got me confused since you are posting the screenshot of the Badges page. I am sorry, but I really do not understand why you continue opening the Badges page, if you cannot stand seeing any badges. Makes no sense to me. If you want to avoid seeing the annoying badges, just stop opening the Badges page - it is as simple as that.

  • Do you have a similar trick for webinterface?

  • Do you have a similar trick for webinterfac

The trick is for the web interface. Post a screenshot of what exactly you want to hide, if the trick did not work for you.

  • Is the cogwheel still there for you? I collected a number of 100 mile "rides" while driving that I'd like to get rid of. I've checked the web and phone and while I can see all the details of that badge, there isn't a cogwheel.

I am on the badge page, not the dashboard though. They don't show up as something available to add to my dashboard.

FWIW I do like them, but I find some of them silly. I also wish that, since I don't have a watch registered on my account, that it wouldn't show me the watch ones as available (which coincidentally are the ones I seem to find silly). I *have* enjoyed completing monthly cycling challenges this year.

  • The cog wheel is in the activity that awarded you the badge.

  • I don't have a cogwheel in that badge box. If I click on the badge, it just opens it but I can't do anything with it. The upper cogwheel lets me download my file etc.

BUT I was able to remove them by changing the activity to driving, which means I should fix my Car setting on the garmin itself. Thanks!

  • That is the cog wheel that you should use to remove your activity which is a way to remove the badge, but if you like to log your car driving you should of course change to the correct activity type.

  • next time you fly in a plane, record an activity for a few hours. you will unlock all badges and never 'run' that fast again. make sure to let gps lock prior to take off, which may require friendly banter with your seatmate in the window seat to swap with you. game the game. enjoy

  • Unfortunately this only works partially. Badges are still popping up in the browser page, and in the android app (not as push notification but still).

This is a typical case when the OP asks about a feature, and gives the reason why, and someone is focusing on the reason why.

But if you just ask " can I remove this feature", people then ask "why?".

I think that discussing the psychology of the OP is not relevant here.
