Speaking of having activities deleted unintentionally, has anyone suggested a more complicated delete process to garmin in order to remedy this with their next software update? Both times I've had this…

This should work for you - 1537._11D2810-fixed.zip
There was 1 trackpoint with "unexpected big change of distance value." Repaired using Fit File Repair Tool.
Unzip the file then import into Garmin Connect using the import data page. The recovered file is a point-to-point and not an out-and-back. Hopefully not missing the return route.
The .FIT file starts with a _ unlike the other properly recorded activities is the folder structures.
It doesn't matter, as long is it has the .fit extension. A recovered fit file typically will not be accepted by Garmin because the file is corrupt. Can you zip then attach the file to a reply post? We can take a look and attempt to repair it.

Hi seilogramp,
Any chance you could try and fix this .fit file for me. Had the same problem and deleted the file, just recovered it and it is corrupted.
Thanks!
According to Fit File Repair Tool.
12082 bytes of the file are corrupted and could not be repaired.
Unfortunately I could only recover a small portion of this and had to split into 2 runs. 1 run around the Melbourne Cricket Ground and 1 along Safety Beach. There was no other valid GPS data.
Anyone able to fix this fit file? Lost a run this morning and am trying to recover it. Thanks in advance!
