Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

    Thanks Joey! I feel as though I have my own personal Garmin Helper with you! I hope Garmin knows how valuable you are to those of us who are so competitive that we NEED to gain the higher level!!!!

    Speaking of levels, are there only 3? Once I get my Level 3, am I striving for a higher nirvana?

    I just reached level 4 today and now need to get to 300 total points for level 5 so it looks like there are at least 5 levels.

    I needed 140 total points to get to level 4, and now I need to get to 300 total points for level 5.

    The improvements that I mentioned yesterday have been released to production. The most noteworthy fixes were the ability to change the activity type and receive the corresponding badge. This will allow users that don't have a device with a cycling profile to record their activity and then change the activity type after upload to receive badges such as Saddle Up, Shred the Gnar, or On the Rocks. This would also allow the distance badges for cycling to be awarded. Changing the activity type was also potentially causing the Goal badge not be awarded due to the activity type being changed after upload in order to meet a goal. The improvements released today will help with this experience as well.

    Also devices that upload TCX files will now process for badges.

    We continue to work on reprocessing badges for activities/steps that were previously uploaded. But in the meantime if there is a badge that should have been awarded for changing the activity type you can manually change the activity type again and get the badge.

    Today I was awarded the "Personal World Record" badge out of the blue, with no indication what it is for (it is my off day, so whatever record I set must have been in the past). Looking at my friends list I noticed that 3 of my 6 connections were awarded the same just today. Is this a consequence of the changes released to production today?

    Nothing, which I archived. Maybe less sleep, great stress or a near dead heartrate ;)

    I have a connection with 6621 pts (no mistype) and he's level 5. So apparently 5th is the highest level at the moment.

    I should have got a badge for recording a swim session in yards and meters however this hasnt happened , can this please be rectifed , i have a screen shot if required

    It is the Early Riser badge changed? Before it was 8:00 , now 7:00?
