Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

    Just curious, is this badge gone forever or was this done in error with the badge soon returning?



    The 'Have Your Cake' badge was released in error, and as of right now there is no plan to add that badge back in. There is ongoing conversations around this badge, but we do not expect anything in the near term. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  • If you have not received in the Thanks For Sharing Badge, can you post how you shared the activity (i.e. through Garmin Connect online, GCM on iOS, or GCM on Android)?
    By email, through Garmin Connect online.

    I grant Garmin permission to view my account data while investigating this issue through the Administrative Tools.

    That said, it should be easy enough for Garmin to simply attempt to reproduce the issue with the Double Duty badge disappearing, using a different (test user) account. After all, I was readily able to reproduce it from DanielM's report, without seeing his activities or account data.

    p.s. My badge point total is now correctly showing as 27, so at least now I know the frequency of recalculation is not so infrequent as daily.

    Thanks for your reply. The Double Duty badge issue is one that we are easily able to reproduce and is an example where we may not need to access the accounts through the Administrative Tool.
    It is more likely that we would need to view account data in other situations where badges are not being awarded, and want to make sure that we have permission to access the data to continue the investigation.

    I grant Garmin permission to view my account data while investigating this issue through the Administrative Tools.

    I shared a number of activities on a number of platforms (Facebook, email, SMS, Twitter, Google+), from both my phone (GCM on Android) and from the Garmin Connect website, without triggering the badge. Here is a small sampling of those activities…

    I was finally able to earn the badge after I uninstalled and then reinstalled the Garmin app on my android phone and, after re-configuring the app, sharing the following activity with Facebook from the newly reinstalled app.

    Also, I have lost the Double Duty badge twice now by deleting an activity even though I earned the badge several days earlier.
  • I should add that I didn't get Early Riser despite doing numerous runs before 8am, however, I received it today. Could it be possible I didn't get them before because even though I started and finished the run before 8am, I didn't sync until after 8am? Today's run was done, dusted and synched before 8am.

  • Some other weird ones:

    I received Milestone today even though I had previously received 5K Run and 10K Run. 5km is more than 1 mile.

    I received 60-Day Goal Getter from the very start but have not yet received 30-Day Goal Getter.
