Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Former Member
Former Member

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

Thank you for the continued discussion and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

06/19/2018: A new update has been posted here.

  • I've got the batch today. Thank you Garmin for pushing the button.

  • Hydration streak badge is not awarded even though I filled in my hydration for the last 33 days on a daily base

I would be glad if someone could help out.

    Kind regards,

    JMvD101

  • The Hydration Streak badge got a progress bar. Have you checked that you made any progress during these 33 days? If there is no progress, then may be you are not doing it correctly in some way.

How are you reporting the hydration? On the watch, app, web?

Check the 4 week hydration graph to see that you added at least 64 oz or 1.9 liters every day. I use a hydration goal of 2 liters to make it easy to see that I reached the daily required volume.

  • Hi thanks for your response.
I register the hydration via  the app on a daily base.
I don't see any progress if I check the badge
The 4 week hydration graph both in the app as on the website shows the hydration correctly with a minimum of 2.0 liters every day

    What do I do wrong?

  • Odd that you don't see any progress. I see progress both in the app and in the web. Have you also checked the web page? https://connect.garmin.com/modern/badges

I see other users getting the badge (latest today) so there isn't anything in general that isn't working with that badge.

  • Yes, I have checked the webpages as well.
The Hydration streak badge shows as available, but does not show any progress. Both web and app show the same data.Hydration filled in for the last 33 days including today.

My wife got her hydration streak recently without any issue

  • I checked with another account and there was no progress visible there after adding the required amount of water. Very odd.

I suggest you talk to Garmin Support and let them check what might be wrong: https://support.garmin.com/

  • Just contacted Garmin Support via chat. the Hydration streak badge is not supported for the Edge1030.
Which sounds strange to me because I use the Garmin Connect app on my phone or the connect website to fill in my hydration. Apparently your hydration is also dependent on the devices connected to your connect account.
    But alas.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Ok. Thank you for the info. That explains why it doesn't work with that other account I tested with. That account got no devices connected at all.

There is a list of watches that are compatible with the hydration widget here: https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=390puZ3AgO4hM3IzakFs99

My guess is that you are required to have one of those watches to be able to get the hydration badge.

  • Hm, strange, my wife who has only the Vivoki pedometer on her GC account, which does not support anything else than steps, did get the Hydration Streak badge already 10 times.
