Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

06/19/2018: A new update has been posted here.

  • Were all of the runs recorded by a Garmin device? Manually entered and imported activities do not count towards badges.

  • And did you explicitely join the December Challenge, before it was closed?

  • yes I joined before it was closed. I'm 99% sure the progress bar was ok in both event, till the last days of the year, then stopped.

  • Not sure whether it is possible to do something with the December Challenge now, when it was already closed. For future Challenges, I can only recommend verifying the status before the Challenge is closed, and if any discrepancies are found, trying to fix them immediately. For that reason it is also better completing the challenge as soon as possible, to have some time reserve, in case of such problems.

  • Dear Sirs, 

    In the beginning of January I have joined the challenge "January rundown" and in the middle of the month - "The January weekend 5k" one. The later one was covering the last weekend. For both challenges I have run distances well above these challenges requirements. See my profile https://connect.garmin.com/modern/profile/Alex-Amater . So far I haven't received any badges for them. Is it possible to resolve this issue?

    Well, this is a user forum, so we cannot resolve anything for you, since we are just ordinary users just like yourself. We can only help you understand why you did not receive the badge. Unfortunately, in your profile you have no Activities made public, so we cannot have a look at them. The basic condition for the run to be counted towards the challenge, is that is an activity recorded by a Garmin device, and that it is of the type Run. Manually entered or imported Activities do not count.

  • Thank you, trux, for your answer and clarifications. Sorry, haven't realized that my activities were not set public. I download all of them from my Garmin Forerunner 410. So, I'll keep observing the challenges/badges system reactions. May be something will come out. :)   

  • One more comment. I've found on the page of the Garmin support center https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=6pECo6UIFn7ergw8kNmfu9 a list of requirements  which regulate awarding of badges. One of them stipulates that some repeatable badges have a limit on the number of times it can be earned by an individual. I guess the rundown and weekend challenges are awarded only once. Since I had similar types of awards in the previous months, I cant have them again.

    Pratically almost all badges are awarded only once. There is only a handfull of exceptions and they are clearly marked with the tag "Repeatable" in their description.
