Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Former Member
Former Member

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

Thank you for the continued discussion and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Did you join the Weekend Wanderer Challenge (on the Challenges page) before doing the walk? If yes, then try editing the Walk activity from that weekend, changing a minor detail (i.e. adding a Calorie). If it does not help, share the Activity as weblink and post the link here.

Thanks - I don’t have that icon strangely.

I’ve attached a couple of screen shots to show that:

    1.  I don’t have the icon you’ve highlighted so can’t share

    2.  A summary of my indoor and little outdoor cycling last week - over 100km.

My Garmin watch doesn’t measure cycling on a static bike like my Zwift only when bike is moving. I’ve recorded the cycling activity.  I can’t add via Zwift - don’t know how to

This all seems very complicated and clearly I’m not the only one with problems

What can be done to make it more straight forward?

    What else can I/you do?

Looks to me you have, just it looks differently

I'd be surprised. Most Garmin watches have and Indoor Cycling mode too. But even if your model really did not have it, you could simply record the activity under another indoor type (i.e. Cardio), and then change it to Indoor Cycling in Garmin Connect, and enter the distance manually. Imported activites often do not work for badges. You have more chances if the Activity file were in the FIT format, and/or when it contains all necessary data (which is often not the case at 3rd party providers). Recording the activity by your own Garmin device is definitely safer.

100K cycling badge not awarded; I rode 145.94 total miles during the time period. Fifteen cycling activities, including https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/5090697327 and are all publicly viewable on my Garmin Connect account. I joined the Challenge prior to the start date. Please advise. Thx!

Imported activity. See my previous answer to HeidiJensen66. Same case, same answer: you need to record the activity with a Garmin device.

Hello. Thank you for opening this forum. I have one badge to review (not awarded):

1.-  ladder up activity ; virtual ascent Druid Arch 735 ft

    connect.garmin.com/.../5095074162

  • 1.-  ladder up activity ; virtual ascent Druid Arch 735 ft

The Floor Climb activity is all right, but the problem at the 735 ft badge is that Garmin apparently set the threshold higher than they claim, and instead of 735 ft it rather looks like they've set it to 750 ft. You have two options: either you contact the Support and ask them to fix it, or you change the type of the activity from Floor Climb to Running, edit it and adjust the Elevation Gain to a value of 250m, save, and change back the type to Floor Climb. If it does not help, redo the floor climb again, climbing a few floors more.
