Garmin Connect Badges Not Being Awarded

Former Member
Former Member

Thank you for the ongoing discussion regarding the new badges. We have been following these discussions and are investigating why some badges have not been awarded as expected.

We have created this thread to track reports of badges not displaying in accounts. Please post here if you did not receive a badge as expected, and provide:

  • Badge Type
  • Link to the activity (Privacy set to Everyone)
  • Any other details (such as social media platform you shared an activity to or linked your account with)
  • Do we have permission to view your account data while investigating this issue through our Administrative Tools (Yes/No)?

If you have previously posted about a badge not being awarded, thank you for doing so and there is no need to post again about that specific badge. We are investigating each of those reports and will reach out with any new information individually. We request that posts in this thread be saved for NEW reports of badges not being awarded to aid us in tracking these appropriately.

Thank you for the continued discussion and your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

06/19/2018: A new update has been posted here.

  • Looks all right. Are you sure you do not already have any of the Floor Climb badges awarded, before you did these ones? You can try editing the activities (select Edit inb the cogweel menu of the activity), making a minor change (i.e. adding a Calorie), and saving it. Wait a minute, and verify the badges.

If it does not help, contact the Support. From my point of view, although the Elevation Gain is not sufficient for the 1000 ft badge at yesterday's climb, the 735 ft badge should have been awarded for it.

I have just got the 735ft for yesterday's activity.

Contacting support hasn't been easy. Chat is not working, and I can't find the email option  found the last time.

Also, if badge says "more than 735ft ascent", the badge should be awarded with more than 735ft ascent, no 750, or elevation gain Slight smile

  • I have just got the 735ft for yesterday's activity.

In that case it is perfectly OK, since the activity did not have sufficient Elevation Gain for the 1000 fr badge, and I do not understand why you go on insisting, when I already explained it many times. For the 1000 ft badge you simply have to make a new climb with the Elevation Gain more than 305m, that's all. You do not need the Support for that.

  • Also, if badge says "more than 735ft ascent", the badge should be awarded with more than 735ft ascent, no 750, or elevation gain

Yes, it should. But as you learned, it requires a bit more, and we, the users, have to live with it. Either you accept my sincere advice, and you repeat the climb with a sufficient margin, or you contact Garmin, and ask them to fix it, or you stay without the badge. I can't help you more, than by giving you the tip how to get the badge, and how I got it myself.

  • I uploaded a cycling 50K file (fit/tcx) from Rouvy that does not seem to count towards the cycling "ride to100k" badge?  I have earned the indoor riding badges previously from Rouvy files.  Does anyone know why this one would not count towards the miles?  Is it a glitch?  Can it be fixed?

  • I got the indoor cyling badges (all three) from uploaded files from Rouvy?  Why would the Ride 100k be different?  And I ask b/c my miles for THAT are not counting either.  Even though, as I said above, I got the indoor cycling ones?

  • Does anyone know why this one would not count towards the miles?

Practically no badges accept imported or manually enterred activities. The indoor bike badges are one of the rare exceptions, but otherwise you need to register the activity with a Garmin device.

My cycles I’ve recorded as ‘activity’ based on indoor cycling using Zwift are not featuring towards badge - why not?  What else do I need to do?  I’ve done the above
