VO2max not updating

Hi. I recently purchased a FR235 and the VO2max updated after the first run on Dec 27th. I have done a good few runs since then but the VO2max has not been updated since the first run. Any idea why?
  • My VO2MAX still same but the the fitness age jump from %30 to %40 after the workout

    Running VO2 Max Estimate

    • Running Activity must be 10 minutes or longer in length

    * vivosport requires up to 15 minutes in length

    • Activity must be recorded outdoors with a GPS signal
    • Heart rate data from either a built-in optical heart rate sensor or from a chest strap
    • Heart rate must be elevated to at least 70% of your maximum heart rate for at least 10 minutes continuously

  • Okay I will certainly make sure that I'm running outside at 70 percent of max hr for longer than 10 minutes etc.. But I find it very suspicious that I have the exact same date of 27 December on my watch as the original poster!!

  • So are you saying that VO2 max is calculated on a weekly basis? Because apparently it's supposed to updated after every run with the proviso that you meet the requirements. I'm having an issue with VO2 max not updating as well.

I've only had the Garmin Fenix 6 Pro for 2 months and these were my first runs with it.

I went for a run last Thursday (27th May) and then again on Monday (31st May) and got VO2 max readings of 49 both times. However they are readings on 24th May and 31st May (one week apart) and I did not go for a run on 24th May.

On 3rd June I went for another run, all the criteria (outlined by @jcoutwood above) for VO2 max reading satisfied and I did not get a VO2 reading. I did get Load and Heat Acclimation readings though in Training Status.

On my Fenix 6 Pro it says the last reading for VO2 max was on Monday (31st May). (49, Excellent, Monday) two runs ago.

Why is there no reading after 3rd June run? The fact that there was no reading after my run on 27th is strange too. Instead there is a reading on 24th May when I didn't go for a run.

When exactly are you supposed to get VO2 max readings? I thought it was after every run and that is what the Garmin support person told me when I called them. However, from the two VO2 max readings I have, it seems like they are taken weekly (which doesn't make sense)

  • I think I fixed this problem.

Log out on the Android App

Switch off Bluetooth on the phone.

Reset the Watch (Clear all data and reset)

Create a New Account using a Different e-mail address.

    Bluertooth On

Then pair the newly reset watch to the New Account (Everything is now at factory defaults) Watch and Garmin connect.

    Go for 15 Minute run.

VO max seems to be working
