Vivoactive 3 not syncing

Hi all - Is anyone having an issue syncing their VA3? My activities are syncing fine with the desktop Garmin Connect (and my IOS mobile app) but there are apparently updates that aren't syncing. I've tried deleting and re-installing Garmin Connect on my desktop but still won't upload the updates. I tried with my IOS mobile app and same thing (x-ref this question in that forum). Thanks~
Another odd sync issue occurred this morning after a workout. The VA3 & sync icons were grayed out in the iOS Connect App. Status in VA3/Settings/Phone showed green but "waiting". iOS Bluetooth Settings shows "connected" but icons were still grayed out in the App & can not sync.
Workaround: - quit out of Connect App - went to iOS Bluetooth Settings\vivoactive3 & selected "Forget This Device" - launch Connect App & I got prompted to pair device. - entered the code from the VA3 screen & sycning started & was successful.
Give it a try anyway - I only think it was a third part app, it could have been some bogus setting that I entered or a setting that got corrupted between my entry and the server. Delete all the pending updates, sync again, then re-do the settings changes if the sync completes.
My worry is that it'll just be a temporary fix, until the next time Connect tries to update some settings. The underlying issue is, as far as I can tell from logs, an error connecting to a server, not bad data.
I'll see if I can get a sensible answer out of support. If I can get in touch with someone who actually knows what they're doing it may well be a pretty easy problem to fix.
Had the same problem with my VA3 today. My VA3 couldn't sync with my iPhone X or MacBook Pro. After reading this post i realised and fixed the issue quite simply. One of the downloaded Watchfaces had a bug. Removing it from the VA3 resolved everything.
