Activity won't upload to Garmin Connect

The last two days I've been having troubles uploading my activities to Garmin Connect. I get the usual message that syncing is complete, but the activity does not show on Garmin Connect. The activity from two days ago disappeared from my Fenix 3 activity history after syncing as well, but the activity from yesterday is still there. Any ideas what the issue might be and how to solve it?
  • I'm having the same issue with my vivofit and vivosmart.
  • Decided to restart my Fenix 3 ahead of my run today. Had some troubles turning it on again actually, but after a few attempts it worked. For some reason, all saved activities had been deleted, but that has happened a few times in the past as well. No idea why that happens. Anyway, I had no troubles uploading the activity to Garmin Connect now. So it seems restarting the watch worked for me. Either that or it was just a matter of luck!
  • First of all i managed to connect my Vivosmart HR to my Huawei phone since last October !
I was so happy at last.

I sync it and i realised that my recent activities disappeared.. I said "ok, 2 days ago i coukdbt even see them on my desktop app"

I went for running today and after i finished i synch my watch to my phone.
    But no activity at all..
Also my desktop wont even connet to my watch.

So whats is really going on??
Im getting really annoyed with Garmin, maybe i shoukd buy other watch...

So what do i do now?? Wait again??
  • Same here, syncing problems. Some acivities get synced, some not. I've run the last 2 weeks every day, and only yesterday and week ago are synced, even though I can see them in the watch history. The steps are also randomly synced. Looks like software bug.

    Android App - 4.5.1
    Watch - vivoactive latest firmware.
  • No syncing problems whatsoever for me with my VA and Android or my FR910XT. Have you folks tried Express? Spyrinho, what happens when you try to connect? Does the watch show up as a removable drive? If so, you should be able to import the activity manually.

For Express, a couple of thing to try:

    A different USB port.
If the watch is setup and you have more than 1 Connect account, make sure Express is pointing to the correct account.
  • Same problem, too, since yesterday in the evening. I have automatic synchronization with Endomondo, and there I can see my activities, but not in Connect.
    Using Forerunner 735XT and iOS.
On Connect.website I can‘t see my activities neither. But steps are uploaded absolutely correct.
  • Hi! Your watch might have messed up some data, resulting in a corrupt .fit file. Try these steps:

    1. manually upload https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=Ht3ZP52Kju075uKvqTqu99 - connect your watch to your computer, select the files that won't upload and copy to your computer then import them via the online garmin connect

    2. if it says "unsupported file type" or something like that, you prob have a corrupted file

    3. use an online .fit file fixer - like this one - https://www.fitfiletools.com/#/ctf#view and download a fixed version of your file

    4. upload the fixed file to garmin.

    Hope it works!

  • I am having the same problem! However mine is with a GArmin 301XT.

  • thanks for advice, looks like a corrupted file but fixed file didn't work either :(

run your file through Fit File Tool's section remover

import this fit file manual from within Garmin Connect Web

    when this fails

with your consent we can have a look at your file with FitFileRepairTool

zip the fit file and upload here in the forum, or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

    happy & safe sporting
