Why was this feature removed in the new interface? I used it regularly to identify potential routes when I needed one of a certain distance. Now, I can't do that. i hope you can get some of the key features your users relied upon restored.

It is not removed.
But you won't be able to filter when you have all your activities listed, you need to select one type of activity, for instance "Running". Then a button appears which says "Advanced". There you can filter. So this functionality has actually improved with the last version.
in the previous version you used to be able to filter activities by course, so as to compare time easily round a specific course, you are now unable to do this:(
Martinr2 - I couldn't agree with you more. The ability to filter by course was one of my favorite features, and one of the most useful features as well for my purposes, and I can't for the life of me think of why Garmin would have removed it. Can we sign a petition? I'm not even kidding.
Why has the filter by course disappeared? I run about 20 different courses and compare times by course. Do I really have to go back and rename every run. Seriously Garmin? Put this feature back or can I go back to previous layout?
I came to the forum to report that filtering by course is gone in the new version of the site and see people are already complaining about that. It was one of my favorite features in Garmin Connect. I used to filter activities by a certain course and see how I progress with it.
