Steps for a Given Activity

When I click on any activity on the connect website, it shows me a whole lot of information such as distance, time, pace, calories, elevation gain, HR, cadence etc. But nowhere is the number of Steps shown during this activity. This is also true both on my Watch (Vivoactive HR) and the iPhone app. Anyone have any idea why Garmin elects not to show step information. I know I can do the calculation before and after but often I don't remember to look before starting the activity or after completing it.

Edit: I know that I can list the table of all activities on the Connect website and Add/View the Step information but this is extremely cumbersome. Also does not show on the device and iOS phone app.
  • Here I am 6 years later as a new Garmin user, converted from Fitbit (well, maybe, the jury is still out) and I'm trying to figure out how to display steps for my walks and realise that Garmin don't want me to see them, which is why, after 6 years, they still haven't made them available in Connect!

It's a shame they aren't listening to their users, especially those looking to migrate away from Fitbits and Apple Watch, where steps are everywhere!

  • There are plenty of free simple Connect IQ apps that will add the step count to your activity stats. For example this one: tx Activity STEPS | Garmin Connect IQ
