How to export all data from Garmin Connect?

What is the easiest way to export all activity data in csv format from Garmin Connect? When I go to the Activities page, it does not seem to show any activity there even though I have been syncing my vivosmart HR to my phone (mobile app) for 2 months regularly. On GC, if I go to Steps, I can see some steps activity but dont see a way to export it.

The thread is a bit older, but useful updates should be coming for at least EU based users at the latest on May 25th this year, when the EU's General Data Protection Regulation becomes applicable. Among other things, it requires data processors such as Garmin to provide an easy way for users to download all of their personal data (including step count, heartrate, etc. collected using fitness watches) in a standard file format that is transferable to another data processor (e.g. to Fitbit).
