Treadmill walking

I see that treadmill running is an activity on GC, but not treadmill walking. Can that be added as an activity type?

Just choose walking. Does it really matter that much? You can always change the activity name to reflect that it's on a treadmill.

I want it to count as walking miles and as a treadmill activity just like "treadmill running" counts towards running miles and as a treadmill activity. Right now there is an option for treadmill running…

I guess it depends on your device. y VivoActive device as Walk, Run, Treadmill Walk and Treadmill Run.

Agreed! I would love a treadmill walking activity that showed elevation gained.

I took the standard Walk activity and copied it to “Indoor Walking”. Turned off GPS for this new activity and it worked!

It counts the distance / speed based on steps.

That's what I was thinking as well. Do you know if it would let you calibrate your walk at the end as it does with treadmill activity?

I remember once or twice I got the question whether i’d like to calibrate Treadmill Running, but for the walking activity I never got it. Guess you may need to calibrate manually in the settings.

Totally agree! Garmin needs a treadmill walking activity.! If you edit the activity to walking it won’t count for the treadmill badge!

Treadmill walking wouldn't count for the treadmill badges since they require treadmill running. You also need new badges for that new treadmill walking activity.

Technically it is a treadmill “activity” badge. If we have Pilates we should probably have treadmill walking and a treadmill running badge.

Yeah, the text only says Treadmill, but it will not work by just adding a new activity type and think that it counts since it only works with Treadmill Running. Garmin didn't believe anyone would think of the crazy idea to walk on a treadmill
