Goals - "Any Activity Type" Missing

I set up goals for the week every Sunday. One of them is the goal for how many hours I want to exercise during the week. For that goal, I use "Any Activity Type". This week it appears to be missing as a choice. There's "Uncategorized" but I'm thinking that won't work for my purposes. Am I just not seeing it or is "Any Activity Type" really gone for good?
  • Suggestion submitted

Put in the "suggestion" to bring back the "Any activity" option. Hopefully they'll bring it back - I suspect a lot of people doing 2017 planning are going to be irritated.
  • I sure hope so. The more the outcry, the better chance it will return.
  • Arghhhhhh

Same thing...no "Any Activity" on goals like there has been...what the heck, Garmin??
  • Yep. I have the same problem

    Exactly!
Found the same bug:mad:: a week ago there was "any activities", in fact I have a correct past goal; for these week I try to copy the same goal but it isn't possibile....

Same bug - can't pick "Any Activity Type" for my yearly Goal. Worked great last year.

    Any Activity Type

I too have noticed the 'any activity type' option is gone. I think Garmin may not understand that 'any activity' is different from 'uncategorized' in the sense that users like to differentiate their activities but at the same time would like to set goals regardless of the type of activity. A goal based on 'uncategorized' activity types does not allow for that. So in the end, if we want to set goals based on the number of times we are active in a week/month/etc, we are left leaving every single activity 'uncategorized'. Kind of a pain the bum. I emailed the support desk and received the following response, which didn't really offer any help:

"In Garmin Connect, select "Goals" and then "+Create a New Goal". The options listed there are the only options available for creating Goals."

Hopefully they take a good look at this issue and bring back the 'any activity type' option. I'm not going to hold my breath, haha.

Agreed, I've also contacted support to request this.

    One very unhappy user

This was not cool! Of course I can follow my totals via the calendar view but thats not the same.
I will also send some feedback if I just can figure out how to do it...
  • For the idea page, use the link in post # 7 in this thread.
  • Thought this was more of an issue Vs a request. If something worked before, but is broken now, then that should be a call or email to support.
