My new personal records are not updated in Garmin Connect. Anyone know how I can force this.

Tnx
  • …my FR630 recorder 9,91 with 41:50. Isn't a closely match?
The FR630 is a device model that can detect one or more personal records within a timed activity upon your completing and saving it (before the activity record ever gets uploaded to Garmin Connect), and then tell Garmin Connect about the new PR(s) without relying on GC to do any distance matching. However, unlike in GC, you must complete at least the full 10.0km for the FR630 to recognise a 10K PR; even 9.99km won't do.

Hey, you're right! I did the same. I was able to edit the name, event type, gear and notes without losing the PR. Then, just as you did, I changed the activity type from "running" to "street running" and the record disappeared. Thanks for trouble shooting.

Once you have lost the PR by changing the Activity Type i.e. Running to Street Running, do you know of any way to the PR back?

OK found the solution to my own question. To restore the PR

    1. In the activity, under the cog icon, Export Original
    2. Delete activity
    3. Re-Import the activity you just exported via the "+" symbol at the top right.
    4. Go to badges and accept the PR.

Thank you for the solution. I also realized my FR220 correctly remembered all the records that Garmin Connect forgot over the last year. I was able to look at the watch for the dates of activities that contained PRs, find the activities on Garmin Connect and follow your method for restoring the records. So, when I set that half-marathon PR during a marathon last year, it now shows properly on Garmin Connect. Must remember not to edit "Activity Type" lest the records disappear again.

    Confirming Trouble Source: Activity Type

8 months later, the same problem still exists. Changing activities to Street Running removes the records.
  • Changing activities to Street Running removes the records.

So it is clear that you know enough to make a conscious choice between preserving the personal record(s) in Garmin Connect or altering the activity type of the activity record.

    1. In the Connect App, go to More (bottom right, with the three dots above the word ‘More’).

    2. Activities

    3. Running

    4. View Personal Records

    5. You should then be able to Accept or Decline records.

It is possible to set a recordas described above in Garmin Connect.

If the activity distance doesn't correspond to the record's distance, the activity's time is wrongly assigned to the record distance. Then, the record time can be corrected manually in Garmin Connect. The time can be derived from the activity's data, i.e. auto-laps.

Nevertheless, I agree that this is very annoying and should be fixed by Garmin soon.

THANK YOU! I can't believe it's 2019, and they still haven't created a notification for this feature. I have been looking all over for how to change my PR. That did the trick!
