I have a Garmin 800 uploading events to Garmin Connect and then syncing to my fitness pal. My question is how does Garmin Connect calculate the calories burnt in the process. Is the figure calculated the entire exercise or the additional burnt from normal day to day living.
For instance if I cycled for an hour and Garmin Connect calculated the calories to be 600. Sitting in the arm chair doing nothing I would have probably burnt about 100 calories. So when I calculate the additional food I can take on board is it 600 or 500?
