Fenix 3 not recognized - Listed as "Unknown"

This comes and goes with different versions of the software version on the Fenix 3 but it's clear that the problem lies with GC.
We have to edit each activity manually to turn off Elevation "Correction" to show correct data.
VERY ANNOYING since this is supposed to be a trail watch.
It seems like a trivial thing to fix, when the problem first showed up it was fixed quickly but only for certain software versions for this watch.

Even with the last update to Garmin Connect this very annoying bug is present.
How can this be so incredibly difficult???? :mad:

Same issue...

really surprised this has been going on for so long... Mine is also doing the same. but what is odd, the data that gets sent to Strava shows my fenix3 and it all seems to be correct.

Fenix3 recognized again

Happily surprised this morning after my run to find out that my Fénix3 is, once again, recognized by Garmin Connect and is showing as such rather than unknown device!!! The previous runs with unknown device are still showing unknown device, though. Hopefully this behavior is here to stay.

You're right.
I just checked and both of my workouts today are ok with recognized Fenix 3. :)
Hope it stays like this now and doesn't screw up after next beta update.

My morning commute ride was unknown, but this afternoon it showed fenix 3. Finally - thanks for figuring it out!

Hopefully, Garmin will run a script to update historical entries.

New since yesterday: GC recognizes my F3, but fails to leave "elevation correction" disabled. Manually disabling it fixes ascend and descent, but the elevation plot stays wrong (same as weeks ago, when the F3 was "unknown").

When will this get better!

I have the same problem with Fenix1, since january. Ok, now Connect knows I have F1, but in activity view software version is 5.5 (which doesn't even exist, newest 5.0), device view shows that its the newest version. Still it claims I haven't syncronized since late 2014, it was the same already on january.
Elevation graph is horrible, I guess sums are ok, if you disable corrections. The graph cannot even be elevation corrected, it is so awful. Here are two examples, first one is from last year, when everything was working, and the second one is from today. Three ~4,3 km laps.

Elevation correction always enabled

Since 7.01b (now on 7.20) i do have the problem that all my activities synced to GC are "Elevation correction" enabled. I can change that to disabled but the elevation profile remains unchanged. I did already delete my F3 in GC and Connect mobile, uninstalled Garmin Express and then reversed all steps. No change ...
Anybody else having the same issue?
