Fenix 3 not recognized - Listed as "Unknown"

This comes and goes with different versions of the software version on the Fenix 3 but it's clear that the problem lies with GC.
We have to edit each activity manually to turn off Elevation "Correction" to show correct data.
VERY ANNOYING since this is supposed to be a trail watch.
It seems like a trivial thing to fix, when the problem first showed up it was fixed quickly but only for certain software versions for this watch.

I am in the same boat and see my Fenix 3 as "unknown" device in GC with, of course, the elevation correction turned on :-(
Could we get a fix?

Since Feb. 24 GC is not able to recognize my F3. If there were at least an option in the settings to never use the "elevation correction".

Very poor.

F3 listed as "unknown device" on connect.

I'm also having this problem and I'm also annoyed. Does anyone know if Suunto has similar troubles with their software?

My brother is using Suunto Ambit 3 and he hasn't mentioned any problems like these.
And yes, we talked quite a bit about pros and cons of the different brands.

Same issue here. Garmin isn't being very forthcoming with any updates on this situation. I'm getting very frustrated and annoyed at the lack of support from this company.

Perhaps they need to actually test the updates before rolling out. Seems this is an option never selected by Garmin in so many ways!!

Beside the fact that I have the same issue with "device unknown", I also see a couple workouts listed with "quatix 3", a device I don't own. Is there a way to edit the device manually?

My Fenix 3 is now "Unknown" for three weeks. Yes, it is possible to deactivate elevation correction. This fixes ascent and descent, but the elevation plot on GC and GCM stays wrong! Also TCX-exports have the wrong "corrected" elevation data.
