Connect not picking up Segments

I am very disappointed that Garmin is not putting more effort into restoring the Segment feature in Garmin Connect. It has now been two weeks since the error was recognised by Garmin and the Garmin Connect Status page still simply reads:

"DOWN Segments
We are currently experiencing issue (sic) in processing your segment matches. We are actively investigating."

It is really annoying as it was the main reason I bought an expensive Edge device. It is now much harder to compare my progress while I am training plus I do not want to be pushed into paying for an expensive Strava Premium upgrade just because Garmin can't be bothered to fix something that was supposed to be free.

Anyone else fed up?:mad:

    I don't think you are doing anything wrong - the data seems all over the place. I have 5 times for 1 segment and have been ranked by my slowest time but most of my segments are showing no rank at all!
  • People won't make it to the leaderboard if they have their activities set to Private. That could be it... otherwise if it is a new section it takes some time to populate.

    Can't think how else it could be messed up. However I have segments I have created and use frequently that no leaderboard and I have others that I have only completed and it does have a leaderboard (just me!) SO no rhyrme or reason... could recreate the segment and see if it works that time.

    You have it set to display Everyone?... not just 'me" ?

    thanks for the reply.

    i do have it set to display everyone but even if they all have their activities set to private that doesnt explain why i dont get a time or a rank myself.
    ...think i'll take your advice and just recreate it

    I have a similar problem. I ran a segment. When I'm on the segment's page, on the top left it says your best time is 25'21'' on May 9th..... But it doesn't appear on the ranking. My activties have always been set to everyone.... I'm so tired of these difficulties....
  • I have the same issues. Existing segments didn't update (yes, the run was marked as "public").
    Then I created a new segment and it worked. The leaderboard was filled quite quickly. The leader was a biker who marked the ride as a run and he archived a world record :p Congrats :cool:

    Anyway, I deleted all my segments now because I'm tired of the problems. I use Strava since a month and I'm very pleased and it offers freedom of the used product (I could use my Ambit2 and still have my results within the same platform).
  • Segments are detected on my runs, but leaderboards are not being updated.

    Maybe I'll try deleting and creating them again.

    EDIT: Not needed to delete them. Edit them (changing the name, for example) and the leaderboard regenerates.

    Is it just me, or are segments back up?

    When I create a route in connect, and select to display the bike segments, they show up as blue on the map.

    I have recently connected strava to my accounts, so I'm not sure if it is just the strava segments or if it is Garmin Segments back for real?

    Anyone else got info?

    Ps. The status page shows them as 'online', so I think we are (finally) back in business!!
  • I have just upgraded garmin express and edge 820 (vs 8.80) and I can not upload segments. The folder segment in the device is empty. Every time I try to send it to device either from Garmin Connect or from the app goes into a loop and nothing is sent.
    I was going to upgrade to StravaPremium for live segments but I will hold it until I see the segments working again.
