Connect not picking up Segments

It's unbelieveable, that this feature is simply dead and noone provides any information about it... After using Polar for 20 years and going Garmin for the first time - I'm dissapointed already at the start...

I'm teaching Computer Science and I wonder what your programmers are doing that this feature doesn't work...

I am very disappointed that Garmin is not putting more effort into restoring the Segment feature in Garmin Connect. It has now been two weeks since the error was recognised by Garmin and the Garmin Connect Status page still simply reads:

"DOWN Segments
We are currently experiencing issue (sic) in processing your segment matches. We are actively investigating."

It is really annoying as it was the main reason I bought an expensive Edge device. It is now much harder to compare my progress while I am training plus I do not want to be pushed into paying for an expensive Strava Premium upgrade just because Garmin can't be bothered to fix something that was supposed to be free.

Anyone else fed up?:mad:

Make a map my ride account for free and you can create courses that work the same way as Garmin segments.

I didn't know segments weren't working until reading this thread, and just wasted a bunch of my time trying to find out why they weren't updating.

Over the years I've had many Garmin devices, and they are the hardware manufacturer of choice for me. However in my opinion and experience, their software, both in the device and online has been consistently some of the worst software I've ever needed to deal with. Bad beyond words, so I shouldn't be surprised this is yet another example of truly poor coding.

Unfortunately it has reached a point where upon my next purchase I will have to seriously consider looking at alternatives beyond Garmin. It's a great shame, as I have always found the hardware side of things great, just let down by the software.

Garmin Connect linked to Strava

So now I have a Strava account and it can be linked to Garmin Connect so when I upload my rides to Garmin, it goes to Strava too. After I linked it and went back to Garmin Connect, it allowed me to see strava segments within Garmin Connect... However, it also provided me to switch back to Garmin Segments... which still don't work... however the fact that they gave me that choice would indicate that someday.... Garmin Segments might someday work again...

That is not the answer to his question as this only shows how to upload activitys not segments.
The answer to his question is NO you DO need to create every single segment manualy of look for a simmilar one and frankly with a free account this all sucks hard.

As for strava segmets inside connect this also takes a ton of time as you need to fav every single segment you like or add them yourself it will not just show every segment you did so its rather worthless as i have more to do...

They need to fix it.
Its time for a few lawsuits against garmin in order to force them to fix it or pay for our strava premium account!
