Reports in Garmin Connect incorrect

Hi Folks,
In november there are 11 activities in my schedule. Three running, 4 hiking and 4 cycling events. In reports there are only 4 cycling and 1 running event displayed. So there are missing a few items. Does anyone know about this issue? Please let me know.
Thanks

  • Something has gone wrong with reports since November:
    - the sum of the distances of my swims are incorrect
    - my streng training activities are identified as running activities (I use a Garmin Forerunner 210 for indoor core training activities, the watch uploads the activity on Garmin Connect as a running activity, and after uploading I change it to strength training activity. Before November it worked well, now it doesn't)
  • +1

All my strength training Events are now running in Reports. Time to find a new brand of fitness tracker imo :D
  • I've been having issues for couple of months now - I am using FR610 and reports are all over the place. Usually number of activities is correct, but reports are missing distances from random workouts. I can't find find any logic to it.

At the same time all distance based goals are always accurate. This is really, really annoying.
  • It's a bug that Garmin is working on.

Look around in this forum. There are a number of threads about this with workarounds until this gets fixed.

In summary, most of the time, you can get the proper activity type in the report if you change it immediately after you sync but it really has to be immediate. If you are too late, you can fix it by exporting the changed activity, deleting it from your activity list, and then re-importing it with the changed activity type in place. Some people say that you should wait until the deleted activity disappears from the report before re-importing.
  • Thanks for the tip pshare, I'll definitely try getting new events changed as soon as they're uploaded. Unfortunately I don't have time to re-import a months worth of near-daily activities, maybe someone at Garmin's software development centre could hire a QA to do it for me?
  • Changing it straight away to "Strength Training" didn't work :<

I'll continue my search for a fitness tracker that tracks my fitness. ;)

    Thanks for all the replies.
Garmin has a lot of issues in their software wether it's in Garmin Connect or Basecamp. I hope there will be a solution in the near future. Testing and a proper QA before updating would be fine... It's seems that their customers are kind of QA-officers (unpaid unfortunately....:()

You are right. Nice tip from psahre, but that takes too much time which is lost from training time...

From my experience the missing reports are the ones that were edited in GarinConnect after the upload.
For example, when I update the distance of a running activity (that was done on a treadmill) it is not captured in the 'total distance' report. It is captured right in the 'total time' report because this was originated by the device itself and was not edited later.

Is there anyone else who see this behavior?
  • Changing the activity type immediately works most of the time but not 100%. Yesterday, I was a bit slow to make the change. When the report didn't change, I exported a tcx file of the changed activity, deleted it from Connect and then reimported it. The report was correct after that although I had to fix the title again.

I do have a question however. I order to import a tcx file, I believe you need to have the list of activities showing. When you delete an activity it changes to that display. What I would like to know is how to get to that display in modern without having to delete an activity.
