Big thumbs down for forcing users to the New Garmin Connect?

I notice that as from January we're going to be forced to give up access to old Garmin connect pag and swithc to the busy/cluttered and poorly designed new version.

Personally, I like the simple clear layout and graphs of the old version

What do you think?

I like the Garmin Connect Modern Website. It's probably because I got used to it by now. It needs a big update though. I use a vivosmart and my main activity is running. I run 3 times a week and record the activities with my vivosmart(with hrm data). I also record my post run yoga stretch/workout. I wish it was easier to sort activities. I only started running this year and sorting the data is a pain.
Also, with the latest Garmin Connect update, the mobile experience seems disconnected with the website one. Anyone here know if Garmin has plans to make the website and the app a seamless experience where it would be easier to switch from one to the other? That would be good.
I sync my data to nike+ and strava. Nike+ because the graphs are really nice and the UI is really good. Strava for my mapped bike rides and theheart rate score. It would be great if Garmin could add all these features to a future Garmin Connect Modern update. That would be a killer website if they could do that.

Apologies if I went out of topic.
  • Although the new Modern Look appears to be faster and elegant I still prefer the old look! - Easier to navigate and pretty much simplified for all!

They could have easily tarted up the current version instead of going to the extremes that they have with the modern version!
  • I was using Training Center for the longest time until late last year. Then I bought my vivofit and then my vivosmart. So I started using Connect only around last November. Since I was just starting out, I just setup Modern and referred to Classic whenever I couldn't do anything in Modern.

I've never really paid attention to Classic but given that it's about to be put out to pasture and there enough people who aren't happy about it, I thought I would take a deeper look this morning. Unless I'm missing something, Classic seems really activity-centric with little or none of the elements that interest me. For example, where is sleep (either movement or levels)? Modern has my weight graph in my face. I have to dig to get to it in Classic. Where are steps?

Even activities are simply listed in Classic. If you select the activity, you see its details. In Modern, I have a list of activities, a bar graph of time per day in activities, and a widget that shows a summary including map of my last activity. I also have a calendar of the month which summarizes with coloured icons the activities I've done for the month and I even have a graph of my activity heart rate results appearing on my Modern dashboard.

Given that I was able to configure all the the information that is important to me in my face in Modern, I just think Modern makes a lot of sense for my needs. If I were only concerned about activities, I suppose Classic would be fine, but, in my case, it doesn't give me what I need the same way Training Center no longer meets my needs.

I hate the modern interface on a laptop

The classic interface is much better for giving a good comprehensive overview of my activities. I hate trying to navigate the "modern" interface using anything other than a smartphone.
