Garmin Connect Mobile Ideas and Suggestions

Have an idea that would improve the Garmin Connect Mobile application? We would love to hear from you! Please use the Garmin Connect Mobile Ideas and Suggestions thread to submit your ideas, suggestions, and recommendations related to the Garmin Connect Mobile app. Thank you very much!

  • Why you cannot show dara table with each swim lap in intervals in garmin connect app. This view is available in watch, but in app there is no table view  to easy view/check each lap timings. Graphs are nice, but table like in watch is much more informative..

  • I would like to add some apnea challenges with the dive whatches, coz we are a big group of divers it would be interesting create some challenges in this sport

  • Suggestion 1. With Calories, display as a Chart over the day to show Active Calories. This will allow user to identify when during a 24 period they generate increase in activity.

allow HR superimposed over the top.

suggestion 2. Suunto allows import of activities and calculates Acute & Chronic Training Load for imported activities. It also calculates same for manually added activities. This feature is great and something lacking badly in Garmin.

suggestion 3. Fitbit app identifies if it thinks you have done an activity. A bit like Move IQ. Difference is that Fitbit allows user to save that as an activity complete with HR data and other metrics. The same applies for a manually added activity with HR data, calories etc included in the manual update.

Download the Suunto app and have a look at how they display metrics, reporting and analysis data. It’s easy from app to search through activities and data is presented well.

Suunto app  used to be so much worse than Garmin but really have a good app now. Apparently they use professional app developers and not work experience kids if latest update (Sep 2023) is an example.

  • I would love the ability to track mileage on multiple pairs of running shoes.

Love the daily workout suggestions on the watch but would also like to see it on the app.

  • I very much like the ability to change the name of an activity type. A lot of sports are missing on the standard list. I can add a new by copying an other sport and customize it to my needs but it will still have the wrong activity type name. I would very much lie to be able to select the correct activity type on my watch so all actities are stored correctly.

  • Changing the name is already supported. Not by all watches but the more advanced got it.

You can't add any sports not supported by the watch. Changing the name will not affect the type it is logged as. Running will always be running even if you rename it to cycling or anything else.

  • I joined my first group at a Wounded Warrior Project event.  We are using group challenges.  I would like to be able to challenge group members to badges and expeditions, in addition to the current step, climb, swim, etc. options.  Please expand the challenge feature to allow for advance badge and expedition challenges.  Thanks!

  • With the newly addition of Inline Skating as an activity in our watches, the following suggestions look to enhance the user’s experience with this activity and its related sports:

    A. Removal from the ‘Other’ category and creation of its own category (Roller Sports) so that:

    1. Laps information/section is re-included when doing a custom workout
    2. Default gear (skates) aren’t apllied to every single activity under ‘Other’
    3. Maps can display a Speed/Pace, HR and Elevation overlay
    4. Self evaluation can be set when editing the activity
    5. Intervals can be set labels (warm-up, etc.) when editing
    6. HR data when viewing the laps section of a custom workout.

    B. The addition of an Inline Skating icon in the ‘What I do’ section of the user profile

    C. Its inclusion in PacePro.

    • PacePro Pacing strategies can't be set for races in this sport since the fastest pace one's able to submit is 4:00/mi.

    D. Specific badges

    1. Number of skating activities
    2. Specific distances reached
    3. Marathon

The ideas above are shared agreeing to the Terms of Use appearing in Garmin’s Ideas Form.

  • The newest update for Garmin, connect no longer allows for you to edit asleep for anything other than one day. The ability to edit was taken away, and I would like to have other people who read this identify that they are having the same problem.

  • @7583457 Correct. The 3 circles appear on Today, giving the option to edit sleep time. When viewing yesterday’s sleep the Help link replaces this option making it uneditable.
