Have an idea that would improve the Garmin Connect Mobile application? We would love to hear from you! Please use the Garmin Connect Mobile Ideas and Suggestions thread to submit your ideas, suggestions, and recommendations related to the Garmin Connect Mobile app. Thank you very much!

  • Thanks, I am not quite sure what this means. Do you mean there is an app I can add to my watch called Percour?

  • Ok, I understand that I won't get steps directly from the bike, I have just been using steps as a rough measure of how much exercise I get per day and I was hoping to continue. May have to use intensity minutes in the future. Steps seemed to work pretty well with my old Fitbit that died rather suddenly. Not sure how it converted bike to steps may be tried to work out an average cadence from speed and distance (it was not connected to any bike sensors only phone). I have a Wahoo as my bike computer.

Went with the Garmin Venu 2 as although the Venu 2 is more expensive initially over a Versa Sense, by the time you add the Fitbit subscription to get the stats I want (inc sleep and others), it is more expensive over 2 years!

  • Garmin will not calculate a made up value for steps from your activity. If you want steps the watch must measure steps.

Intensity minutes could be a value to use. Or maybe active calories. Don't bother about the exact value. Just use the value as a measure how active you are during a day.

  • Yup, thanks. I think I will just have to get used to a different measure. As you say I used it as an indication, it was just convenient and very relatable/understandable.

From a code perspective, it should not be that hard to implement with a settings switch to enable though.

  • Add calories eaten to the connect app, similar to how we enter hydration.  Then graph calories burned and eaten together.  This would be helpful for acheiving weight loss goals

  • Data that could be seen and analyzed after an activity is categorized as 'Inline Skating'. Here are some examples.

  • I would like to see the app look more modern and also not have it rely on connecting to a server to see data

  • Would love OTF to connect to Garmin , and “My Day” activities

  • I would love if Garmin Connect had a tab for best effort in a month or a year. Just like Endomondo had.
Being on the downside hill of physical fitness it is not very likely I'll ever beat my personal bests anymore, but to keep the fire burning, it would be cool if there was a "personal best" for the year, or a specific month. Best 5/10/21k run current year, and best 5/10/21k run for the month of january. As an example. Same with cycling swimming and strength.
