Garmin Connect Mobile Ideas and Suggestions

Have an idea that would improve the Garmin Connect Mobile application? We would love to hear from you! Please use the Garmin Connect Mobile Ideas and Suggestions thread to submit your ideas, suggestions, and recommendations related to the Garmin Connect Mobile app. Thank you very much!

  • When I sync my Garmin in the morning, my sleep does not show up even after multiple Syncs. It will show up later in the day. How can I get it to show up when I first sync?

  • Add swim 50m & 200m PB data!  These are standard swim distances and 200m is used for the CSS so useful to track (app should also auto-compute CSS ideally)

Even better would be fully customizable PB distances for odd size pools

  • Hi!

I would like to be able to compare stats of two activities in Garmin connect on phone. This to track improvement.

  • Live track no longer allows me to personalize the name of my event. Can we bring that back?

  • Is there a way to add the apnea hunt as counting towards exercising.  I know personally the day after spearfishing it feels like I did a 1/2 Ironman triathlon. Then to look at my stats and see it didn’t count as exercises is pretty unrealistic, scuba diving absolutely shouldn’t count

  • Can apnea hunt be counted as exercise?  I know personally when I spend a day spearfishing it feels like I did a 1/2 Ironman  after and the next day.

  • Hi guys would be great if you could reschedule the bike training plans on the app. It’s a very handy feature with the running and I think a lot of people would agree.

  • First steps first! They need to include Ballet (or at least Dance) as a named Activity. I've sometimes thought would be nice. Although, tbh, none of my teachers who would allow/encourage me to wear any kind of watch during class, so perhaps I wouldn't get much use out of such a feature anyway :)

  • Cadence wishlist:
    • include a cadence graph in the Activity details screens in addition to pace, heart rate and elevation – at the moment only average and maximum cadence info is listed under Running Dynamics and it's necessary to visit a service such as Strava or Endomondo in order to see cadence information that has been captured by a Garmin device.
    • report cadence info for Walking as well as for Running – yes, I know it's possible to edit a walk activity and turn it into a "run" (although even then, still no graph) but that's a workaround and won't suit anyone who wants to keep their walking and running separate. As before, it seems silly to have to visit a third-party app/website in order to see data that Garmin is recording.
    • ditto all of the above for Garmin Connect web

  • Steps data wishlist:
    • make the daily steps bar graph more granular (15-minute increments instead of hour increments) and
    • make it possible to tap on a bar and see the value (number of steps)
As a fairly recent convert from another major fitness tracking brand, and as someone with a desk job, this is one feature that I really miss a great deal, especially in terms of viewing my movement through the day, exactly when I get up and move around and so on. I realise it's possible to visit Garmin Connect in a web browser and hover the mouse over the daily steps line graph to get the same information, but the line graph isn't as easy to navigate as a bar graph and it would be nice to be able to access this level of detail in the mobile app.
    • in the weekly view, include a dotted line graphing the daily steps goal, especially since this can be dynamic and thus changing from day to day (rather than simply changing the colour of the bar to orange when the goal has been met, which gives no indication as to what the goal for that day actually was)
    • ditto for Garmin Connect web
