New app - DO NOT DOWNLOAD

The new app is horrible, especially if you own an FR620. The prior added telemetry (the part we all paid so much money for) doesn't show in color, the strides-per-minute is now halved for some reason (180spm now shows as 90spm), my watch won't pair with my phone, only my previous three runs show in the activities section and when you press "show all", nothing comes up.

Hey Garmin, I paid a lot of money to upgrade from a 610 (that had charging issues) to a new 620. How about giving us an app that actually has *better* features, not worse.

Is there a way to download the old version until you get something better than a beta app ready for download?

This is NOT what I wanted to be dealing with going into a weekend full of long runs. :irritated:

The good thing is that they quickly replied my claim on their Customer support contact system. It was replied by Diane from their Mobile team. She told me they are working on the bugs, so I expect it will be fixed soon!

I wish I could say to the executives at Garmin that rather than releasing so many models of GPS, just focus on simplifying the model lines so it doesn't get so difficult to support so many models.

Something analogous to this as I see it: back in the mid-1990s and early 2000s, Apple Computer's computer line had bloated to tens of models, so many of them were so similar (which isn't unlike the situation with Garmin!). Finally when Steve Jobs returned, he cut the product line down, simplifying it both for the end-user consumer AND for their in-house development. I think this was a good call.

If Apple ever comes out with a GPS watch with HR, cadence, etc. I will most likely jump ship to that product after that product has been out for a year to two. Apple generally has products that work well and they have extremely good customer support service both in their stores, online, and on the phone.

Garmin says they want to "enhance the user experience" as reasoning for eliminating many third party developers. However, their own apps, GC 2.0 for iOS 7 for example, is riddled with problems. Give the third party developers a chance to compete with your mediocre apps, or I'm switching to another watch and tracking software.

Also, I can't view all activities. I only see three activities. When I click the see activities button, sometimes many of my activities show up temporarily then disappears promptly.

An update to Garmin Connect Mobile (v2.0.1) has been released to the App Store/iTunes that should have corrected this issue. Please be sure to update to this version to see if this issue persists. Thank you!
