New app - DO NOT DOWNLOAD

The new app is horrible, especially if you own an FR620. The prior added telemetry (the part we all paid so much money for) doesn't show in color, the strides-per-minute is now halved for some reason (180spm now shows as 90spm), my watch won't pair with my phone, only my previous three runs show in the activities section and when you press "show all", nothing comes up.

Hey Garmin, I paid a lot of money to upgrade from a 610 (that had charging issues) to a new 620. How about giving us an app that actually has *better* features, not worse.

Is there a way to download the old version until you get something better than a beta app ready for download?

This is NOT what I wanted to be dealing with going into a weekend full of long runs. :irritated:

  • Agreed. Huge miss by Garmin.

I take my comments back ... user error. That said, come on Garmin, default it at least show something on the Home screen otherwise users will believe your software is still buggy.
  • I use my with an Edge 810 and iPhone 4S.

And it will not upload automatically a traning file, I have to do it manually.

If I want to use LIVE TRACK, then the app just close down.

Halving the cadence, by itself isn't problematic. What's problematic is inconsistency. The 620 shows cadence doubled, so the cadence on the app should too. Cadence on the 305 is shown halved, so that's what the app should show. In other words, the format of the data should be replicated throughout all devices and apps. It shouldn't be doubled here and halved there.

Also, I can't view all activities. I only see three activities. When I click the see activities button, sometimes many of my activities show up temporarily then disappears promptly.

I have lost all my previous activities since downloading new app. Bloody frustrating.
  • There may be issues with some running devices, but for cycling it is an improvement and I disagree with the thread title.

Note that post #5 contains the fix for crashes and livetrack. Basically delete the app and reinstall.
  • I don't have any of the issues mentioned above. I use the app in combination with my FR620 and it works like a charm. Old versions was always crashing, having issues with LiveTrack and so on. Only thing that doesn't work is posting live track to Facebook. Something I can live with.

App needs to be fixed soon, causes unsatisfied Customers

I cannot agree more: I'm using a new FR220, and the new Garmin Connect App version has issues that makes it worsen rather than improve:

Primarily, the Bluetooth sync has issues, like for example, the last run in an specific day, just simply will not get synced. Also, the automated bluetooth function fails a lot in the connection, I have had to re-install the APP twice to make i work.
Another issue is that although you configure everything in kilometers, the reports still show miles.

The good thing is that they quickly replied my claim on their Customer support contact system. It was replied by Diane from their Mobile team. She told me they are working on the bugs, so I expect it will be fixed soon!
