Garmin estimates my VO2Max at 57 currently, and it has varied between the mid 50s and 62. The thing is, it's always "in the top 1% for your age and gender". I'm male, 59.
This might be nice, except that I know I'm rather average for a reasonably fit, keen road cyclist of my age. Sure, I suppose it's possible I'm in the "top 1%" for the population in general including people who are completely sedentary, but I'm a fair way off the level of many competitive people my age.
Wouldn't it be better to have a scale/assessment better calibrated for competitive people? At least as an option?
