It’s terrible.
Can we please just have the option to go to the old version
Utterly awful. Used to be clean, on one page and easy to see. Now have to scroll to find things. Poor work Garmin
I agree that it is terrible, I was so at home with the previous format and now am all at sea. Please can it be changed or give users the option to revert back?
Every other App that I know syncs with Garmin. Strava, Trainerroad, intervals.icu, Trainingpeaks, etc. etc.
Of course all of them require some kind of payment for premium functions and more detailed analysis of your data.
I think you may be wrong about that. Not one comment in here has been positive. Yes, people generally come to a forum to vent, but this is literally 100% of feedback minus you, who I suspect are affiliated with the company the way you are jumping on answers.

No, I am not affiliated with the company in any way. The only thing is that I have been using Garmin watches since 2016 and I am open to accepting new ways. The world is changing and it doesn't help to just complain. Who believes that Garmin will reintroduce the old layout? That's certainly not going to happen. And if someone here thinks that because of a layout change their device is no longer usable, I think that's very exaggerated. The device itself has nothing to do with the change. And if someone wants to switch to Apple or somewhere else, they are free to do so. I think the Garmin moderators here are just as uninterested in this as I am.
As I said, you can of course complain. However, I have no problems with the app. Neither I, nor my girlfriend who is actively training for the marathon, nor my work colleagues who do both triathlons and ultra runs have any problems with the new app.
Just my two cents.
I have 30 members of my friends and family that all have Garmin devices and they all have issue with the new app update, they all were in the Beta testing, all gave feedback. There are significant problems in this release, beyond the aesthetics of it. Every Garmin owner has paid a high price for a premium fitness tool and they have the right to complain about a subpar product that they feel is no longer usable in a way. You can speculate all you want about whether things are exaggerated by other users but because it isn't happening for you doesn't mean it isn't happening. To say that it doesn't help to complain is just well, ignorant - how do you think things get changed if people don't demand that they do? If they don't use their voices to make their opinions heard? Anyway - you like it, some people do and that is your opinion and I respect that but I hope that you would show some respect to those that have a differing opinion than you.

Can you describe these problems?
I am also on my fourth Garmin watch, which I use with Garmin scales. I also haven't had any issues before and am open to change. Although the last change made it slightly worse, personally this one makes it not fit for purpose for me. We are all different. Complaining as you put it, is feedback. And quite frankly i never complain but I rely on this so much I am actually upset they have butchered it this badly. We have all got a product that we have been happy with and now do not like. Feedback is important, although I do agree I can imagine won't make the slightest difference. Just because it still works for you doesn't mean it still works for everyone. It sounds like they have got the app right for those that use it for ultra runs. Also feedback that should be given. Probably the only positive one I have seen today.
Not just me they are arguing with then.....
The newsfeed still shows maps
As schmjoe mentioned, maps are there in the newsfeed If you don't initially see them, try doing a screen refresh (swipe down).

I'm really interested in what these problems are. I haven't noticed any so far. Someone wrote above that his/her heart rate is no longer correct since the app update. But the app does not measure heart rate. If data in the app is not correct, it's not because of the app, but rather because of the device that records the data and then sends it to Connect.
