iOS Connect Beta Heart Rate missing for several hours, but recorded by Vivoactive 5

The Connect app Beta heart rate graph shows a 4 hour heart rate gap ( no data) during last night's sleep. However, the data is present on my Viviactive 5's heart rate graph. I have re-synced and the data is still missing.

Anyone else experience this Beta Connect app issue?

  • Check out Garmin Connect Web. If it is missing there too, then it is not an issue with the beta version of the app, but rather a failed sync of one chunk of the monitoring data.

    Thanks, I did check Connect web and the HR is also missing from there. For whatever reason my Vivoactive 5 did not sync during that time frame. Had the watch for 6 weeks now and this is the only instance where the sync failed.

  • It can occasionally happen when the watch reboots in the night - for example because of a firmware update, or due to a crash. Should it happen more often, I recommend contacting the Support.

  • Hi, is your problem resolved? I have the same problem since last midnight.. I’ve reinstalled the app and reconnected the watch three times. But from midnight until 5 in the morning my hr and body battery and stress graph is showing gaps. Now it’s syncing normally again. I’ve also tried syncing with express, but the data is still missing. 

    I also have a vivoactive 5 and it’s 3 weeks old, I’m not on beta though  and my connect web data is also missing, on my watch nothing is missing.

    Oh and my watch did not reboot or something. I was still awake when the gap shows. My data on the watch does not show gaps in the hr graph like it would do after rebooting. 

  • the problem with my HR data missing during my sleep was only a one time event and has not happened since.

    ive just looked back into my graphs since I have the watch, which is only 3 weeks, and I noticed I have missed data starting at midnight 5 times more. I hadn’t noticed yet, because it’s exactly at midnight that it is missing and then it mostly picks up again within 30-45 minutes. So it’s hard to see the missing hr line because it’s at the start of the graph. On connect web or when changing phone orientation it’s easier to see. 

    I will report this tomorrow to Garmin. Because I find it odd it’s sometimes apparently missing data when a new day starts.
